| Description | I'm a simple user. After update from "Software" to 8.6 beta (why I get this offered?) I'm no longer to login (no login window, I've to reset and reboot with the former version). I don't know the reason. | ||||

I think this is the same problem I am facing. I recently updated my Almalinux from 8.5 to 8.6, and when using the latest kernel (initramfs-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.x86_64.img) sddm hangs when starting, however when selecting an older kernel at the grub menu (e.g. 4.18.0-348.23.1.el8_5.x86_64) it works again. A notable difference when running each kernel is that the out of `journalctl -b -u sddm.service` using the failing kernel just shows: ``` May 17 20:25:50 linux-disp.kydlocal systemd[1]: Started Simple Desktop Display Manager. ``` however using an older kernel I get more: ``` May 17 20:25:50 linux-disp.kydlocal systemd[1]: Started Simple Desktop Display Manager.
